Independence OS builds software that helps medical clinics communicate with their patients, including phone and text-message (SMS) services operated on behalf of clinics. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
Information we collect
- Contact information — such as your name and phone number, provided by you or by your clinic when you request appointments, refills, or other services.
- Communication records — records of calls and text messages handled through our platform, used to deliver the service you requested and to let clinic staff follow up.
- Technical information — standard operational logs needed to run and secure the service.
How we use information
We use your information only to provide clinic communication services: routing your calls and messages, sending the notifications you asked for (such as appointment reminders and request confirmations), and supporting the clinic staff who serve you. We do not use your information for advertising.
Text messaging (SMS)
If you opt in to receive text messages from your clinic through our platform, we use your mobile number solely to send those messages. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and get help by replying HELP.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except as necessary to deliver messages through our messaging service providers acting on our behalf.
Sharing
We share information only with: (a) the clinic you are communicating with, so its staff can serve you; (b) service providers that operate parts of our platform under contract and confidentiality obligations; and (c) authorities when required by law. We never sell your personal information.
Health information
Where we handle protected health information on behalf of a clinic, we do so as required by applicable law, including HIPAA, under agreements with that clinic.
Security and retention
We protect information with encryption in transit and at rest and restrict access to personnel who need it to operate the service. We retain records only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations.
Your choices
You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. For questions about your information, or to request access or deletion where applicable, contact us or your clinic.
